Opening Ceremony of 16th Asian Games

The Opening Ceremony of the 16th Asian Games kicked off at 8:00pm at the Haixinsha Island in Guangzhou on Friday, November 12, 2010. More than 7,000 people are participating in the opening ceremony,

which features a 170-metre long fountain matrix, the longest in the world. The entire opening ceremony will be held separately at the sea and land. For the first time the opening ceremony will be held outside a stadium. The main theme of 16th Asian Games opening ceremony is water.
